Hospitals and clinics everywhere can now choose from a wide range of healthcare apps. And lately, more and more of those healthcare apps are being created far from Silicon Valley — or the US. One promising new medical management app is YAR by Kameda Arabia, a booming healthcare IT company in India and Saudi Arabia.

Named for the Hindi word that means “friend”, YAR aims to be the mobile best friend to both medical practitioners and their patients. To live up to that lofty goal, the YAR app is there to help with just about any medical task or information request.

A one-stop medical management app

Unlike many medical apps that focus on meeting just one or two healthcare needs, the YAR app includes a full range of features to ease information sharing between patients, doctors and medical departments.

For physicians and other medical professionals, the YAR medical management app is like a Swiss Army knife of handy features. These include your insurance network profiles, patient schedules, patient treatments, EMR summaries like radiology and lab results, patient reviews or ratings, and even marketing promotions.

And if you’re a patient, YAR aims to be your one-stop app for all of your medical care information. This includes your insurance cards, directories of in-network care providers, maps, appointments, telemedicine video calling, information about diseases or treatments, medication reminders, test results, mobile payments, and customer support via instant messaging.

With so many features, you’d think that such an ambitious new app might stumble now and then. But on the contrary, YAR aims to increase efficiency and avoid medical errors that are relatively common with paper-based medical records.

It helps that the YAR app is “well connected” — it has the potential to integrate with Kameda’s already well-respected medical practice management suite called Yasasii, which means “easy”. That suite unites most major medical department functions including scheduling, EMR, tele-radiology, drug inventories, and even infection control.

The people behind the app

The app’s developer, Kameda Arabia (KA), is headed by CEO Ibad Khatib, along with his key team Subil Ibrahim, Arif Attar, Osama Shariff and Soorajlal. The team strives to provide “world-class software and integrated IT solutions” to the healthcare industry.

KA is a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Fakeeh Care Group. The company has a strong software development arm in India, and headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

KA’s YAR medical management app is already being used by select healthcare providers including the renowned Dr. Soleman Fakeeh Hospital. The app is a 2019 Mobile Star Awards Nominee. You can see more of the app’s features here.
