Tablets and accessories maker Archos has released its new Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad, a magnetic Bluetooth full QWERTY keyboard for 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation iPads.

Archos claims that its new keyboard is the thinnest iPad Keyboard available: at just 5 mm, or 0.2 inches, it’s almost as thin as Apple’s Smart Cover. It weighs 240 grams, or about 8 ounces.

With a similar look and feel to Archos’ Gen10 XS coverboard, the Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad features a full keyboard with iOS shortcuts, adjustable kickstand, and aluminum back casing. Thanks to its Bluetooth connection, the keyboard can last months between charges. A USB adapter cable is included for charging the lithium polymer battery.

Perhaps the Bluetooth Keyboard’s most unique feature is a built-in magnet that the holds the keyboard to your iPad, whether it is closed as a cover, or docked to the iPad.  Like Apple’s smart cover, the magnet turns the iPad on or off when the keyboard is removed or placed in the cover position.

Archos’ Design Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad will be available in March for US $79.
