Cape Coral, FL, (updated October 2010) - Don't let 2010 slip by without taking advantage of one of the easiest and most effective awards marketing programs in the mobile industry - the annual Mobile Star Awards™ program. Now in its eighth year, the Mobile Star Awards welcomes nominee entrants in over 50 "best of" categories including the best mobile devices, applications, success stories, and even technology leaders.

Entrants include well-known names such as Aruba Networks, DataViz, EA, Fring, Honeywell, Motorola, Novatel Wireless, and Sybase, as well as many mobile service providers and smaller, innovative startups. This year's Platinum Awards Sponsors to date are Aisle411 and MobileVillage, and the Gold Sponsor is Nadel Phelan Public Relations. Sponsor openings are still available.

Voting for this year's entrants will take place from October 25 through November 19, 2010 on MobileVillage.com's Mobile Star Awards page. You can nominate a product or company by visiting MobileVillage.com and downloading the entry form, or just by emailing awards (at) mobilevillage.com with your nomination.

Mobile Star Awards winners are chosen each year by thousands of readers of MobileVillage's free "Go Mobile™" email newsletter, which mobile enthusiasts can sign up for at MobileVillage.com. "Go Mobile" has delivered headlines and links to the top mobile technology stories for over a decade now - and today such headlines include news from Cnet, Computerworld, Engadget, Gizmodo, Mashable, Laptop Magazine, The Register, Wired, and others.

"Our readers really know how to pick the best products," says "Go Mobile" Editor Gary Thayer. "A big percentage of them are mobile early adapters and experienced mobile tech journalists. These are the kinds of folks that make important product recommendations, drive industry innovation, and enthusiastically vote in the Mobile Star Awards each year. They're the real mobile experts."

What sets the Mobile Star Awards apart from other awards competitions is its accessibility, large number of award categories, and unique voting structure. Nominees can be placed in one or more of over 50 categories including smart phones, tablets, mobile email and messaging apps, mobile games, media applications, navigation services, wireless network products, business success stories, technology visionaries, and numerous others.

"Just being nominated for a Mobile Star Award can mean a tremendous publicity and market boost," says Jon Covington, MobileVillage founder and president. Covington knows about markets. Prior to founding MobileVillage, he was a pioneer in opening up new markets for Apple, and then went on to launch dozens of early-adapter mobile technology events organized by the company that is now MobileVillage. "In those days, the only people who used mobile devices were a few thousand IT guys and early-adapter gadget geeks," he says. "Now the it's the end-users who are largely driving this huge market, so it's more important than ever that companies stand out from the crowd if they want to take the lead."

Taking the lead and standing out from the crowd is what Mobile Star Awards nominees do. Besides gaining recognition and potential customers, entrants receive a nominee logo for use in marketing their products, plus a listing in MobileVillage's online industry directory. Winners also receive a winner's logo and press announcements.

"Nominees win even if they don't end up winning," says Gary Thayer. "That's because the Mobile Star Awards program can give them recognition for their products and success stories that might otherwise go unrecognized."
