To help make mass communications easier during this challenging time and going forward, Regroup Mass Notification has updated its popular AlertManager mobile app. The iOS and Android app lets organizations like businesses, schools and local governments send mass alerts or other notifications while the go.

AlertManager app updates

In the newest version, Regroup brings many of its platform’s web-based features to the AlertManager app. This means that in AlertManager, administrators can now manage replies, send bulk replies and updates to previous messages, and view sent-message delivery reports.

AlertManager also has an updated user interface that promises a smoother, more intuitive experience. Like in the web-based portal, the mobile app lets you send and receive multimodal alerts via text/SMS, text-to-speech, voice, email and push notifications.

And to make sure that only authorized admins can log in and send alerts, AlertManager also now has a new fingerprint log-in option.

Other key features of the AlertManager app include:

  • Real-time, two-way communication between admins and recipients
  • Push notifications that ensure critical alerts are always delivered
  • Two-tap QuickMessage templates that can include multimedia, attachments, images and recorded messages
  • Populated recipient lists to quickly reach specific people or groups
  • HTML rich-text editor

The AlertManager mobile app is available for free to all Regroup client admins on iTunes and Google Play.

Pandemic planning and communications survey

In recent weeks, Regroup surveyed its clients about how they’ve been using mass notifications to help them navigate the coronavirus pandemic. The survey included questions about pandemic employee communication, business travel suspension, general emergency preparedness, and continuity of operations plans, among other challenges.

The biggest challenges the survey respondents reported during the pandemic have been supply shortages (55 percent), managing staff morale (48 percent), and a lack of information from government sources (42 percent).

Perhaps due to their use of a mobile alerts app, the respondents reported less issues with lack of planning or resources (only 16 percent), or a lack of communication from management (only 19 percent).

Regroup Mass Notification was founded in 2006 at Stanford University, and is now based in San Francisco. For more about the company and its notification solutions, see regroup.com/solutions.

Regroup’s AlertManager is a multiple winner in MobileVillage’s annual Mobile Star Awards, most recently in 2019.
