San Diego — (Business Wire & MobileVillage) — Kyocera International has joined forces with Japan’s number one mobile printer manufacturer Seiko Instruments USA Inc. (SII), and GoCanvas Mobile Forms to launch a complete mobile printing package for rugged work environments.

The enterprise mobile printing package includes Kyocera’s DuraForce Pro 2 ruggedized Android phone, a Seiko Thermal Portable Printer, and GoCanvas Mobile Forms.

This offering provides built-in Military Standard 810G protection: DuraForce Pro 2 is certified IP68 dust proof and waterproof for water immersion up to 6.5 feet for up to 30 minutes. And the Seiko Rugged MP-A40 Mobile printer offers IP54 limited protection against dust, dirt and water spray from any direction.

In addition to its rugged features, the DuraForce Pro 2 smartphone can be washed using a mild dish cleaner and disinfected using alcohol (70% solution) or cleaning wipes.

Businesses can create custom forms from a desktop computer and quickly convert existing paper forms into electronic forms. The documents are then accessible from DuraForce Pro 2 smartphones on job sites to add information and signatures. The portable printer provides a real-time receipt, and the information is also saved digitally for the business’s and clients’ files.

This rugged mobile printing package can be used for many outdoor businesses needs, such as food trucks, kiosks, deliveries, field service maintenance, e-citations, retail “line busters,” repair services, inspections, valet service, and parking garages.

Rugged smartphones have proven many times to provide considerable savings by reducing the “total cost of ownership,” the initial investment and subsequent costs associated with technology failures or breakage and worker downtime due to mobile equipment failure.
