| The
Xirrus solution delivers 2X the range, 4X the coverage, 14X the throughput,
and requires 75% less devices, cabling, switch ports, and installation
time compared to any competitive solution. Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays are
ideal for any organization deploying Wi-Fi, especially those that
require support for large coverage areas, dense user populations,
and high bandwidth applications.
The
Xirrus Management System (XMS) enables centralized management
of a Xirrus Wi-Fi Array network. The XMS automatically discovers,
configures, and monitors up to 500 Wi-Fi Arrays per system, making
the management of large scale, multi-site deployments quick and
easy.
The
XMS is based on a client/server architecture. The server communicates
with Arrays over a Layer 3 network, providing an aggregation point
for configuration and monitoring functionality. The client can be
run from any standard Java-enabled browser and connects to the server
to provide the application interface to the user. The XMS system
is offered in two options: 1) pre-loaded on a dedicated server appliance
(XM-3300-CC); or 2) a stand-alone software application (XA-3300-CC)
that can be loaded on a customer server. Key Features:
- Automatic
discovery and configuration of Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays
- Multi-user,
web-based (Java) client allows simultaneous access from any IP-connected
web browser
- Database-driven,
high-performance engine scales for large deployments across multiple
locations
- Policy-based
configuration enables easy setup of a single Array or groups of
Arrays
- Aggregated
view of alarms enabling fault monitoring of the entire wireless
network
- Overview
and drill-down reports for security, users, data performance,
RF channel usage
- Scheduling
of automatic software upgrades for one or more Arrays

The
Wi-Fi Array is the only product that delivers 864Mbps of Wi-Fi
bandwidth, and because of its unique sectored antenna system, it
can deliver this bandwidth at longer ranges (2x greater) than competitive
Access Points (APs.)
Xirrus
offers a complete solution for high performance, enterprise-grade
WLAN deployments. The Xirrus family of products includes a complete
family of Wi-Fi Arrays, a Centralized Management Platform, RF Planning
Tools, Intrusion Detection & Prevention Products and a Remote
DC Power System, working together to deliver the next generation
Wi-Fi architecture.
Multiple
versions of the WLAN Array support a variety of locations such as
large offices, conference centers, branch offices and educational
institutions. Each Array includes an embedded WLAN switch and comes
in 16 (XS-3900), 8 (XS-3700) and 4 (XS-3500) Integrated Access Point
(IAP) configurations.

In
addition to the embedded WLAN switch (Array Controller) and multiple
APs, each Array uses a high-gain, Multi-sector Antenna System to
deliver superior rate and long range performance while enabling
the use of all non-overlapping channels within the 802.11 specifications.
The
IAPs of the Array are co-located in a circular configuration using
a high-gain, sectorized WLAN antenna system delivering increased
directional transmit and receive gain in all directions. Xirrus'
innovative approach yields 2x the range and up to 4x the coverage
area of current approaches that use omni-directional "thin"
APs.
Within
each WLAN Array, one IAP can be dedicated as an RF WLAN sniffer
to monitor the RF environment on a continual basis for rogue APs
and other security threats.
