Mobile Leader Profile:
James Enis & Paul Valenzuela

James and Paul have lead MediMobile into triple digit YOY growth for two consecutive years, including recent growth of over 500%.

MediMobile began in 2003 with a simple vision of providing mobile charge capture to medical providers. Funds were raised and development began. Within six months, a beta version was release to select users that fully understood the positive impact to their practice. In late 2005 the company was struggling from a financial and development perspective.

Private Company, founded in 2003
Markets Served: Education, General Enterprise, Emergency Response, Healthcare, Military
Operating Systems Served: Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Windows Mobile for Smartphone, Windows Tablet PC Edition, Windows XP / Vista
2007 Mobile Star Awards Winner:
  • MediMobile (Enterprise Software: Healthcare Charge/Data Capture)
  • MediMobile (Enterprise Software: Mobile Database)
  • Pendovis Consulting (Success Story: Healthcare)
2008 Mobile Star Awards Entrant:
  • MediMobile (Enterprise Software: Healthcare Charge Capture)
  • James Enis & Paul Valenzuela (Healthcare Mobile Software Visionary)

Two key investors were asked to assist in evaluating the company challenges and create a plan to create a soluble company. The result of this investigation indicated that there was a significant need for mobile charge and information technology in the healthcare industry. Their quick and decisive actions were critical to building a successful company.

The issues found during investigation were multi-fold:

  • MediMobile did not have clear company goals and lacked direction.
  • The technology was developed on an inadequate platform.
  • Necessary technical expertise did not exist within the company.
  • No formal procedures or processes were documented within the company.
  • Funding was not spent appropriately to support future success.

Paul Valenzuela and James Enis took over complete operations of MediMobile and:

  • Released all currently employed personnel.
  • Hired an experienced, dedicated development team.
  • Collaborated with customers to design a plan to re-develop the product.
  • Created formal procedures and processes.
  • Created Project Management roles and roadmaps applicable to all aspects of the company.
  • Created a financial plan that met the needs of MediMobile and all investors.
  • Drastically cut costs to reflect realistic operational spending.
  • Ensured all employees were vested in the company's goals through stock.

A key addition in 2007 was the hiring of Casey Crawford as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Casey left his post as Director of Operations at Pinnacle Partners in Medicine with over 450 providers to join MediMobile, based on the potential he saw to be part of a successful company.

The effect of Paul and James's actions began to manifest itself in 2007 gaining tremendous momentum in 2008. MediMobile has experienced triple digit YOY growth for two consecutive years. Respectively, Q1 of 2008 compared to Q1 of 2007 showed growth of over 500%.
