Omar
Hamoui is an entrepreneur with deep roots in the mobile industry.
After earning a degree in Computer Science at UCLA and prior to
founding AdMob, Omar founded and ran several companies in mobile
software and services. At the time, he was frustrated by the lack
of available options when it came to promoting and monetizing his
products. Omar realized that mobile service and content firms needed
better ways to advertise and make money on the mobile Web. Omar
created AdMob to solve this problem. Today, at 29, Omar is running
one of the fastest growing, most innovative companies in the mobile
world.
The
AdMob Marketplace offers advertisers access to the world's largest
network of mobile Web inventory, and a powerful set of targeting
tools with real-time metrics and reporting. AdMob now provides advertisers
the opportunity to run ads across a comprehensive set of mobile
content channels, including communities, entertainment, news, and
portals.
AdMob
mobile advertising campaigns can be set up in minutes, allowing
for almost instant results for both content owners and advertisers.
To get an idea of the volume and velocity of activity on AdMob's
network, visit www.admob.com.
There you can track the number of ads being served globally and
you can even see a sample of the ads being served to mobile users
in over 150 different countries in North America, Europe, Middle
East, Africa, and Asia.
Even
advertisers with budgets as small as $10 use the network to generate
results, with click-through rates of 5-10x those of desktop Web
advertising. And happy advertisers stick with the Marketplace, bringing
more revenue to publishers as a result.
From
a standing start in early 2006, AdMob now reaches more than 250
million page views per month in over 150 countries. Advertisers
range from small startups to top 10 global brands. And the network
continues to grow at a rate of 150% per month. With the recent integration
of the contextual search channel, AdMob now offers advertisers access
to mobile Web searches through Google's mobile AdWords service.
Recently
Omar completed a round of fundraising led by Sequoia Capital, and
expanded his Board of Directors to include Jim Goetz, General Partner
at Sequoia, and Maynard Webb, Silicon Valley investor and former
COO of eBay.
