While
other ringtone companies provide snippets of previously existing
commercial songs, BlingTones has signed hip-hop producers/artists
Q-Tip, Rockwilder (Missy Elliot, Jay-Z, DMX), Denuan Porter (50
Cent, Eminem), Salaam Remi (Nas), Hi-Tek (Talib Kweli, Snoop Dogg),
and more to create original 30-second "songs" available
only through BlingTones.
BlingGames
is a dedicated mobile games and entertainment service heavily inspired
by hip-hop culture. The service, which launched in February 2006,
offers a line-up of mobile games including 'Lil Jon Crunk Golf,
Pool Hall Hustle, Stackin' Bling, and Hot Secretary, with real-time,
multiplayer functionality included where possible, depending on
carrier restrictions.
Cellfish.com
(below) is a community where members can upload and share media
both online and on their cellphones. Registered users can create
a profile, upload their own content (videos, images, music, etc.)
to their own personal locker and access whatever they uploaded on
their computer, as well as on their cellphone through a link Cellfish
sends the user in a text message.
If
a user likes someone else's profile and content, they can request
to be their friend or subscriber. They can also send content from
other profiles that they like to their locker and share any content
on the site with their friends. The idea is social networking around
mobile content both online and and on the cellphone.
