Visionary Profile: BlackBerry’s Billy Ho
BlackBerry’s Billy Ho has helped keep BlackBerry on top of the industry as an Enterprise Mobile Management expert.
Billy Ho is EVP, Enterprise Engineering, at BlackBerry. He leads the team that sets the product strategy and roadmap for BlackBerry’s enterprise software offerings. Ho is helping define and execute BlackBerry’s enterprise strategy through the creation of innovative software and service solutions. In a short amount of time and amidst BlackBerry’s ongoing transformation, he has been instrumental in completing many strategic initiatives, including:
Greater flexibility & choice for customers: Opening the BlackBerry 10 operating system and enabling mobile device management (MDM) companies to directly manage BlackBerry 10 OS devices
New products: Introduction of the next generation of the BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) platform, BES12
Security certifications: Secured Full Operational Capability (FOC) for BlackBerry 10 to run on U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) networks from the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The designation follows the Company’s Authority to Operate (ATO) certification and enables government users with a BlackBerry 10 smartphone connected with BlackBerry® Enterprise Service 10 (BES10) to securely access email, data, apps and other DoD network resources. He also achieved Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) approval from DISA for BlackBerry’s Secure Work Space for iOS and Android – a containerization solution that securely separates work and personal content on third-party smartphones and tablets.
Ho has helped keep BlackBerry firmly on top of the industry as an Enterprise Mobile Management (EMM) provider. Today, BlackBerry continues to be the leading multi-platform provider with more customers than the top three competitors combined. BlackBerry manages the mobile infrastructure of over tens of thousands of customers, including all G7 governments, 16 of the G20 governments and 10 of the largest global enterprises in the pharmaceutical, law and automotive industries.
With Ho’s vision and leadership, BlackBerry will continue to be the number one player for customers who care about productivity and enterprise mobility. Ho will also ensure that BlackBerry continues to help customers manage the full range of mobility requirements—from the most open multi-platform BYOD environments to the most secure corporate-only use cases.
