Who doesn’t like infographics, especially when they are about making you look like a superhero? If you use mobile devices for work — and you probably do if you’re reading this — you’ll be happy to see that a new study shows how much more productive you might be than people who don’t use their devices for work.

In its “Consumerization of IT” study and infographic (below), Unisys and Forrester Consulting surveyed “more than 590” (591?) businesses around the globe. Among the results: people who own smartphones and tablets are 83 percent more likely to work while commuting than other workers, and 35 percent more likely to collaborate with colleagues.

Great reason to argue for a pay raise, right? Well, not so fast. On the downside for employers, smart device wielding workers are are also twice as likely to download unauthorized apps, putting their companies and fellow workers at risk for a security breach.

Clearly, companies need to exercise some level of control, and there are plenty of mobile device management companies out there who are ready to step in and help. This infographic shows both the promise and peril of employee-owned devices:
