MobileVillage Kicks Off the 2006 Mobile Star Awards™

Cape Coral, FL, May 2, 2006 -- These days, mobile smart phones, wireless gadgets, and mobile software is big business. But with so many mobile products competing for our attentions, how can we ever know which mobile and wireless products and applications are worth our money?

That's the aim of the fifth annual Mobile Star Awards™, organized by pioneering market development company and news service MobileVillage®. The 2006 Mobile Star Awards program showcases 100s of entrants in dozens of categories, including mobile and wireless products, services, success stories, and mobile industry leaders.

Mobile Star Awards winners are chosen by subscribers to Go Mobile®, MobileVillage's free e-newsletter read by mobile technology executives, buyers, IT managers, developers, enthusiasts, and top tech journalists. Published twice monthly, Go Mobile compiles the top mobile stories from around the Web.

"Every year I see dozens of new mobile companies," says Gary Thayer, Go Mobile editor and Mobile Star Awards coordinator. "Mobile users and enterprises face a huge task in finding the best products, partner companies, or success stories. This is where the Mobile Star Awards can help. This program enables experienced product users to vote for their choices. Like effective word-of-mouth recommendations, these votes for awards nominees and winners influence the market."

Mobile Star Awards entrants benefit as well. "Entrants gain recognition for products, services, success stories, and even people that might ordinarily go unrecognized," says Jon Covington, MobileVillage founder and president. "The program and voting structure are designed to put well-known companies and newcomers on a level playing field."

In addition to gaining recognition and potential new buyers, Mobile Star Awards entrants can use the awards' nominee logos, and are featured on the MobileVillage web site and in Go Mobile. Winners are also named in press releases and can use the winner's logo.

A list of 2006 Mobile Star Awards categories is posted on MobileVillage.com, along with a link to last year's winners. Voting begins this July and winners will be announced in September. For information on entering or sponsoring, email awards (at) mobilevillage.com.
