Jay Emmet is the General Manager at OpenMarket, and also serves as Senior Vice President at Amdocs. He has been with the company since 2008, and brings more than 20 years of wireless and mobile channel industry expertise, working closely with enterprises, brands, content providers, media companies, and mobile operators globally. His past leadership positions include time at LightNetworks, Logix, MCI and Andersen Consulting (currently Accenture).

Jay’s position as an industry visionary was further validated in October of 2013, when he was elected to the Mobile Marketing Association North America Executive Committee. As a board member, he has been able to contribute to the growth of the organization, while increasing his personal experience and knowledge – making him one of the most knowledgeable and innovative minds in the mobile industry.

Over the last six years Jay has delicately molded and motivated the company, successfully driving healthy business momentum including the expansion of mobile engagement services and OpenMarket customers and partners globally. In this last year particularly, Jay led the company’s focus to enterprise mobile innovation and engagement. Since then, OpenMarket has vastly expanded capabilities for its Mobile Engagement Platform for enterprises, adding features that focus on several other key business functions like IT/ security, customer service, operations, and human resources, in addition to the more traditional sales and marketing mobile offerings.

He was also instrumental in driving the company’s development of US long code capabilities, which allow OpenMarket’s global enterprise customers to quickly launch mobile programs with operational use cases that reach a broader audience and generate new revenue opportunities, while remaining complaint with carrier and industry regulations.

Through Jay’s vision for expansion, in September 2014, OpenMarket also extended its global two-way SMS connectivity into 15 countries in Europe and Asia-Pacific, an area that accounts for half of the world’s 3.4 billion mobile subscriber base. Additionally, OpenMarket added new Google Voice connectivity and capabilities, allowing enterprises to reach a broader set of users via SMS.

Jay’s vision for global reach was driven by an increasing demand from enterprises to leverage SMS to optimize their business operations and enhance relationships with their customers and employees through the most popular and ubiquitous communication tool available. OpenMarket now supports over 400 enterprises globally, delivers smart interactive connectivity to over 200 countries, reaches more the 3 billion mobile users worldwide, and process more than 1 billion A2P messaging interactions per month.
