Android
Fring
has added Android support to its voice over Internet calling
and instant messaging app. Fring lets you make calls to regular
phone lines via Skype-Out and hundreds of SIP services over 3G,
GPRS or Wi-Fi. The app also offers live chat, availability status,
privacy settings, and file sharing with other Fring users, as
well as users of popular social services including Skype, GoogleTalk,
MSN, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo! and AIM, all from one contact list.
Fring also supports Symbian S60, iPhone, iPod touch, Windows Mobile,
J2ME and Linux. The new Android version can be downloaded at m.fring.com
or via Android Market.
BlackBerry
Illium
Software
has released eWallet 7.0 for BlackBerry, iPhone, and
Windows Mobile. New features include the ability to create custom
backgrounds, keep backgrounds and files when syncing between
the desktop app (included) and the phone app. Touchscreen users
can easily flip from card to card by simply swiping across the
screen. or , you can use eWallet on any device we support. No
extra versions. No extra purchases. Illium eWallet is available
on Handango for $19.95 for
BlackBerry, iPhone, and Windows Mobile. The new version
includes unlimited transfers to your other devices. Existing
eWallet users will be able to upgrade for $10.
DataViz
has upgraded its Documents To Go Microsoft Office suite
for BlackBerry and iPhone/iPod touch. The new version adds faster
file opening, a better PDF viewer, the ability to open password-protected
PDFs (with the password), tap zooming, and new screenshot viewing
options (thumbnail, fit-to-screen, full screen, etc.). The latest
Documents To Go for BlackBerry is available at Handango
. All
versions (BlackBerry, iPhone/iPod touch, S60 and Windows Mobile

Loopt
has released a major update for its free Loopt location based
directory app that runs in the background on your BlackBerry
and automatically connects you to nearby friends or to "highly
rated" businesses based on your current location. You can
check out where your friends are on maps, view or comment their
latest real-time updates, and share updates and photos with
Facebook and Twitter. You can also browse and rate local places
and events rated by Zagat, Citysearch, and the Loopt community,
and opt to receive coupons or other special offers from nearby
retailers. Loopt is available for free at blackberry.com/appworld.
Similar
to Loopt, RoadComm's free LifeInPocket mobile
suite offers address book sync, instant location messaging,
a family/friends locator, WiFi hotspot locator, weather, traffic
reports, parking info, maps, roadside assistance and a directory
with more than 15 million businesses and other points of interest,
including visitors' reviews and ratings. What sets LifeInPocket
apart from other location directory apps is that it also offers
a navigation feature with turn-by-turn voice guidance. For more

S4BB
has released version 2.1 of its WorldDialer dialing app
for simplifying long distance and IDD calls. WorldDialer lets
you select a contact in your address book or a previously called
number in your call log, or you can enter a number manually
and select a calling card to use. The app can store up to 100
phone card configurations. Corporations can deploy the WorldDialer
BlackBerry client wirelessly through their BlackBerry Enterprise
Server, and the WorldDialer Enterprise Administration Panel
can update WorldDialer client configurations within the BES
network. The WorldDialer BlackBerry Client is available for
$9.99 at

iPhone
/ iPod touch
DataViz

Pocket has released an update to MailTones, a message
notification app that uses the iPhone's push notification capabilities
to alert you to important mail, and offers customizable alert
tones. The new version is newly compatible the second gen iPod
touch and adds an extra-loud-and-long "alarm" tone
for priority messages, such as for people working on call. MailTones
is $2.99 at the iTunes
