Rhomobile
also announced the public beta of RhoHub, a web-based service
for development and hosting of apps for BlackBerry, Windows
Mobile, Android, Symbian and iPhone. Once an app is developed
online, RhoHub offers an over-the-air provisioning server creating
a single download URL for users. Users access that URL from
their mobile browser and the provisioning service offers the
executable download for the detected smartphone. RhoHub also
provides developers with a hosted copy of RhoSync, a standalone
server for syncing enterprise data with users' phones. RhoSync
uses BES Push and iPhone 3.0 SDK Push to optimize synchronization,
and enables large amounts of data to be stored locally on a
phone and are available even when disconnected and offline so
that workers can create and edit data even when out of coverage.
