BlackBerry
Ascendo
has updated its DataVault password protector, which stores
confidential information such as credit card numbers, usernames,
passwords, PINs, etc. on your BlackBerry and desktop using AES
encryption. New features let you use the trackball to scroll through
the List View function, and also customize numerous aspects of
List View. DataVault now also lets you expand and collapse tree
levels individually or simultaneously, and set default tree configuration
to expanded, collapsed or last position. Finally, you can now
tap or click on URLS to launch websites or emails. DataVault is
available at

BByMel
has updated its popular BlackBerry Alerts app, which
alerts you of missed voicemail, phone calls, SMS, PIN messages
and emails, via a repeating audible alert along with LED
control. You can use ring tones you already have, or use
the escalating alert that the program comes with. The ringtone
can be set to repeat every 1, 3 or 9 minutes. You can customize
ring tones for each type of alert. BlackBerry Alerts is

iPhone
/ iPod Touch
ASafeDrive
has released a GPS enabled app of the same name that alerts
drivers of the speed limit on each stretch of highway or road,
and can be updated with user input. ASafeDrive is currently
only available for the Los Angeles area, but the company says
it will soon add several other major U.S. cities. ASafeDrive
costs $0.99 at the Apple App Store or at asafedrive.com.
Good.iWare
had released a major update to its GoodReader file viewer.
The new version adds a 50x PDF zoom function, PDF and TXT text
search and bookmarking, and other features that enable it to
more easily manage larger PDF and TXT files. The new version
also offers the ability to send files from a computer to the
iPhone via USB. O GoodReader is available in Apple's App Store
for $4.99.
Kinoma
announced an S60 version of its flagship media player Kinoma
Play. Kinoma Play lets you find media fast by browsing the
extensive built-in Kinoma Guide app or searching leading media
sites including YouTube, Flickr and SHOUTcast. It lets you play
media in all popular formats including Windows Media, MPEG-4/H.264
and iTunes AAC, and you can easily share media using Twitter,
Facebook, Last.fm and more. For example, users can share YouTube
videos on Facebook, share Facebook photos on Twitter, and share
podcast episodes via SMS. Kinoma Play for Nokia S60 3rd Edition,
Feature Pack 1 or Feature Pack 2, is available at kinoma.com
for $29.99. Supported langages include Dutch, English, French,
French Canadian, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese,
Romanian and Spanish. A Windows Mobile version is also available.

Vito
Technology
released a new version of Winterface mobile shell, which
lets you customize the look of your phone. The new version adds
10 new skins submited by users in a contest. Users can also
change the background color or picture, headings for the icons,
and more. Other new features let you close all running apps
at once, and shows the battery charge is now seen as a percentage.
Vito has also cleaned up some bugs: the lock screen of Winterface
won't interfere anymore while you're speaking over the phone,
and if your device is switched on with a password Winterface
will allow you to enter it. Finally, a calendar widget now shows
the appointment for all future events as well as repeated appointments.
