Palm

Mark/Space
has released a free beta version of their Missing Sync
Mac synchronization software for the Palm Pre. The software
allows Mac and Palm Pre users to transfer and sync information
and files, including Apple's Address Book, iTunes, iCal, Entourage,
Safari bookmarks, Documents, Videos and iPhoto. Missing Sync can
also synch contacts and calendars automatically via Wi-Fi. The
Mac OS beta version requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later and is free.
The full version will retail for $39.95. The company is also working
on a Windows version for Pre users. For more details, see markspace.com.

S60

CellPhoneSoft,
a Symbian UIQ app developer, released its first S60 app.
The software, called Speedy Go! is a phone accelerator
software with speed test feature. According to CellPhoneSoft,
the app should improve the performance of the phone, providing
display acceleration and overall speed boost. Speedy Go!
can also be used to test and compare performance of multiple
devices. Virtually all Symbian S60 3rd edition and higher
phones are supported, including the latest models. Speedy
Go! is $9.95 at

Fring
has updated its fring social network and messaging app. Fring
enables users to talk and chat with friends on Skype, GTalk, etc.
and use online communities like Facebook, Twitter and last.fm, among
other services, from one integrated, searchable fring contact list.
The new version combines a user's multiple IM contacts into one
dynamic profile, which shows each friend's availability at a glance
and enables interaction, all directly from the combined profile.
Fring also now offers hints to alert users when a friend from their
regular phone book or internet community contacts is also a "fringster"
so they can add them to their friend list. Fring can be downloaded

Shazam,
a mobile music discovery application, has been added to
Nokia's new OVI Store. Shazam enables users to identify music
from a database of over eight million tracks simply by holding
their mobile towards a song for a few seconds, and Shazam returns
information about the track, artists and album. Shazam can be
downloaded at the OVI Store (ovi.com) for a one-time fee.

has released version 1.5 of its SecuBox data encryption
software for Windows Mobile phones. SecuBox aims to provide transparent
on-the-fly encryption of data stored in a phone's memory and its
media cards and employs AES 256 bit encryption, the U.S. government
standard encryption algorithm. The software will automatically
lock data when the user becomes inactive or when the phone goes
into "sleep" mode. SecuBox is available as a demo version
at no cost, and it can be downloaded from aikosolutions.com. A
single-user license can be securely purchased at

Technology released version 1.2 of SMS-Chat, a threaded
SMS management app for Windows Mobile handsets. SMS-Chat organizes
SMS messages into threaded SMS conversations, by each contact.
Version 1.2 adds interface improvements, three skins, and a backup
function for messages. The new version also fixes bugs from the
previous version, including capitalizing new messages, and highlighting
messages. The software supports English, German, French, Spanish,
Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Norwegian, Danish, Portuguese, and
