Mobile Sales

AppLytics has unveiled ApplyFire, a viral invitation tool specifically designed to optimize and increase sales for iPhone e applications. ApplyFire is a viral library embeddable in the code of any iPhone application -- before submission to the Apple App Store. Mobile users will see a prompt message when the game starts or ends, allowing them to recommend the game or application to other iPhone friends in the user's address book. An invitation is sent via SMS or email to the iPhone friend with a direct buy link to the Apple App Store.

Developers, in turn, can use the AppLytics mobile analytics platform for tracking and reporting demographic metrics and performance in order to optimize and advertise their applications. Developers can buy credits on the AppLytics dashboard, as well as track active usage, installs, sessions, devices types, firmware versions and several other metrics along with custom actions and settings. ApplyFire is priced at $.08 per invitation. For more information, see applytics.com.

ProcessAway has announced a mobile iPhone credit card processing app by the same name, that turns an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch into a mobile credit card processing terminal. According to the company, ProcessAway uses the popular Authorize.net gateway and works over any available network connection. Transactions can be processed at any place there is an onsite purchase, such as sales visits, conventions, street fairs, and antique shows.

The business owner is not limited to mobile transactions through their device. The Authorize.net merchant account used with ProcessAway includes an option to download transactions into Quickbooks and also a Virtual Terminal. This lets business owners process transactions out of the office with ProcessAway and in the office through the web-based Virtual Terminal, both with a single account.

The ProcessAway software is sold through the iTunes AppStore for US $19.99. Also offered is ProcessLite, a fully functional free version that is identical to ProcessAway except the charge amount is limited. Additional information can be found at processaway.net.
