Multi-Plaform
PopCap has updated its Bookworm word
game for Palm OS and Windows Mobile. Players feed Lex the
Worm's endless appetite by joining letters on the library wall.
Players use up burning letters before they reach the bottom and
set the library on fire. The new version supports the latest devices
and adds improved graphics, an enlarged dictionary of 70,000 words,
a new action mode, and various minor updates. Bookworm v2.00
is available on Handango for $14.99 for
Palm, Windows
Mobile Pocket
PC, and Windows Mobile Smartphone.
Beiks has released the MedicineNet Pocket
Medical Encyclopedia for BlackBerry, Palm OS, or Windows
Mobile handhelds. The information found in the Encyclopedia
includes standard medical terms as well as pertinent scientific
items, abbreviations, acronyms, jargon, institutions, projects,
symptoms, syndromes, eponyms, and medical history. For more details,

KT-Tech announced KTvid, a video chat
application that lets users transmit video from one cell
phone to another cell phone or computer. For details and

Namco
Networks' new Brain Exercise game is now available
from U.S. wireless carriers. According to Namco, the game is
scientifically proven to stimulate the brain. It challenges
players with "addictive" puzzlers. For more info on

BlackBerry
DataViz
has released a BlackBerry version of its Documents To Go
Premium Edition, which lets users view, edit and create Word,
Excel and PowerPoint files and attachments, including Office
2007 files, on their phones. The Premium Edition also includes
PDF To Go, which lets users view native PDF files. Documents
To Go Premium Edition is available in English, French, German,
Italian and Spanish. A non-expiring license for $69.99 at
Handango.
S4BB
has released BerryDialer, which lets BlackBerry users
take advantage of calling cards. Version 1.6.2 is $29.99 at
Handango in English, German, and Spanish.
iPhone
/ iPod Touch
DDH Software's HanDBase mobile database software
is now available for iPhones. As with other versions of HanDBase,
HanDBase for iPhone allows users to create and edit databases
with secure encryption, custom views, filters, sorting, searching,
and two-way record-level syncing. The iPhone verison also offers
design enhancements. HanDBase is available at Apple's App Store.
iTMP Technology has released iSpinning, a cardio
and cycling application that compiles real-time data
for fitness tracking. iSpinning is available at Apple's App
Store.
MultiEducator has released calculation tool called
Formulator, which contains over 90 financial calculation
formulas. Consumer formulas include mortgage and lease calculators,
insurance calculators, and others. There are also formulas for
financial analysts, such as Acid Test Analysis or Z credit score
analysis, interest formulas, stock valuations, bonds, cash flow
analysis and sales ratios, investment formulas, and debt ratios.
Forumlator is $6.95 at Apple's App Store. The Personal Formulator
edition is 99 cents and contains only personal financial calculation
formulas.
Orb Media has added Orb 2.0 to Apple's App Store.
Orb lets users watch live TV from a tuner connected to a Windows
PC (sorry, Mac and Linux users), and also stream music, videos,
and photos from their libraries. Users can also monitor a webcam.
Orb 2.0 is $10 at Apple's App Store.
Raisix has released ColorMatch, which helps users
match colors in products such as stationery, company logos,
Web pages, clothing, accessories, upholstery, and paint. The
application has finger-touch slider bars let let users quickly
create the color they have in mind onscreen. Once the color
is found, ColorMatch provides five complementary colors. ColorMatch
sells for $5 at Apple's App Store.
SplashData has introduced "Holiday"
and "Birthdays" two date reminder apps for
iPhone and iPod Touch users. Each application is available in
the App Store for 99 cents. SplashData announced a major update
to the version of its SplashID secure information manager.
The new SplashID version 4.5 offers faster loading times, improved
search and look-up functions, and a simpler user interface.
SplashID is available for $10 from Apple's App Store.
