SplashData has released version 5 of its
SplashPhoto application for Palm OS and Windows Mobile
devices. Version 5 features a new UI, support for new formats,
and the ability to share photos on the web with Picasa, Flickr,
and Facebook. SplashPhoto v5.0.2 is $26.95 for the full version

Symbian
Aldea
has updated its SafeStore password manager and electronic
wallet for java phones, including UIQ OS. SafeStore stores personal
and private information, including passwords and other information
for bank accounts, credit cards, memberships, and websites. SafeStore

Macek
has updated his QuickGPS software for UIQ phones. QuickGPS
is optimized for geocaching but it can also work without a bluetooth
GPS receiver for map browsing. The maps are stored in a mobile
optimized format, they can also be built by Map Builder, an included
Windows program based on Google maps. QuickGPS costs $10.80 at
Handango.
Foxit
Software announced that its free Foxit (PDF) Reader for
Windows PCs is now available for UIQ 3.X phones. Foxit Reader
is available at foxitsoftware.com.
Paragon's
Epocware
just released Handy Calendar 2.0, its calendar and time
management tool for S60 3rd Edition phones. The program enhances
the default Calendar application with more features, such as an
overview of all dates/times in three different view modes, a timetable
view, skins, the ability to cut, copy, and paste entries, and
importing of birthdays. Handy Calendar 2.0 sells for $26.95

Paragon also
updated its SlovoEd Compact English-Chinese and Chinese-English
dictionary for S60 3rd Edition phones. The dictionary, from
Oxford University Press, contains 7,618 entries. New features
include a multiple-translation feature, virtual keyboard, flash
card quiz, and irregular verbs (for English.) Ohter SlovoEd dictionaries
are available in Dutch, English, French, Greek, German, Italian,
Spanish and Russian interfaces. The Chinese dictionary is $22.45

Sybase
iAnywhere released v7.0 of its XTNDConnect PC synchronization
software, for synchronizing contacts, calendars, tasks, e-mail,
and notes between Symbian and Windows Mobile phones
and PC apps such as Outlook/Express, Lotus Notes/Organizer, and
Novell GroupWise. The new version also supports Windows Vista
Contacts, Calendar and Tasks, and Google Calendar, and Google.

and even a "hard reset" do not completely wipe data

U.S. DoD 5220.22-M method, Schneie's algorithm, and Gutman's algorithm

has released its Kinoma Play media software. Kinoma Play
can access and play a user's own music, video, pictures, panoramas
