Exaktime
has released PocketClock/GPS timeclocking app for Windows
Mobile devices. The software uses GPS to record the exact
location of workers as they clock in and out at dozens of jobsites
each week. In addition to tracking total hours worked, users
can select the type of work they are doing each time they clock
in, allowing managers to track work by cost code. Users can
also enter detailed field notes about the job that are later
sent to the office. PocketClock/GPS also offers extended functions
for foremen and crew leaders. Data is exported into the company's
accounting or payroll system when synchronizing with a PC at
the office, after which, Exaktime's TimeSummit software enables
managers to set a virtual perimeter around each jobsite to monitor
whether employees are within the perimeter when they clock in
and out. The system displays a map of the region, pinpointing
jobsites and overlaying attendance data onto the map. To learn

LimaCorp
released its eForm-Connect mobile forms service. To start,
the customer uploads the electronic file(s) of the form(s) to
be computerized; these can be Word, PDF, WordPerfect or any
other commercial or public domain format. Once LimaCorp completes
the customized eForms, they are delivered to the customer through
an automatic, web-based download and installation process, and
the customer can trial the forms for 30 days. Data entered in
the e-forms can be captured into a database of the customer's
choice or a database provided and optionally hosted by LimaCorp.
The software can support legal signatures, security, and database
housing, and is available with both online and desktop console
type options. Printed forms are rendered in PDF format. For
more details, see eformconnect.com.
LogMeIn
has released its LogMeIn Rescue+Mobile help desk software
for Symbian S60 smartphones. Rescue+Mobile is an extension
of LogMeIn's Rescue platform - a web-based remote support service
allows support technicians to support multiple smartphones (Windows
Mobile 5/6 and Symbian S60) and computers (Windows and Mac)
from a single console. The support technician sends a text message
to the device owner, which includes a link to download a small
applet onto the mobile device and a connection code. The technician
then connects to the device and, with the user's permission,
gains control of the device. At this point, technicians can
make fixes, update software, conduct training sessions or configure
settings - even view the display and use the keypad, as if the
phone were in their hands. LogMeIn Rescue+Mobile pricing starts
at US $1,956 per technician for a one year subscription on an
annual contract. Support for one mobile operating system, PC
and Mac, is included. Additional operating system platforms
can be licensed for $768 per smartphone operating system on
an annual basis. For more information, see logmeinrescue.com.
