Flowfinity Wireless has updated its BlackBerry mobile data collection software, Flowfinity Forms 5.1. According to Flowfinity, users can take any spreadsheet being used as a data collection solution and import it into Flowfinity Forms and create and deploy a mobile forms application within minutes. Instead of trying to boot up notebook computers every time a data collection need arises, users enter data into their BlackBerry smartphones, and submit the data, where it is collated immediately for use. For more details on Flowfinity Forms 5.1, see flowfinity.com.

Zenprise released version 3.3 of its Zenprise for BlackBerry management software that automatically troubleshoots end user issues. Version 3.3 promises more detailed detection of user-specific Blackberry issues such as users with low battery life, weak signal strength, or low available device memory. Zenprise both monitors and troubleshoots: the BES monitoring software provides a holistic view of the entire environment affecting the BlackBerry service, and Zenprise also checks wireless carrier availability, Active Directory health, RIM SRP availability, WAN/LAN network performance, and overall Exchange server health. Existing Zenprise customers will receive free software upgrades. For new users, pricing begins at US $35 per user for 1000 users. For more information, see zenprise.com.

Messageware announced the release of AttachView 2007 for Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) 2007. AttachView 2007 secures OWA attachments and lets administrators control users' ability to open, copy/paste or print attachments. It prevents OWA attachments from being stored in the Temporary Internet Files of shared computers by converting attachment files into secure HTML web pages, giving fast, secure access to the documents that business professionals need to make decisions. It provides viewing functions not available in Microsoft WebReady Document Viewing, such as a hyperlinked table of contents, printer-friendly formatting and now the ability to view documents with or without Track Changes for managing multiple documents versions across many people. For more details, see messageware.com.

Sage Software announced version 3.0 of its ACT! for Palm OS CRM software, designed for use with Sage's ACT! 2008 (10.0) and ACT! Premium (10.0) contact and customer management software. ACT! for Palm OS runs as a native application to enable ACT! features on Palm OS handheld devices including a linked calendar and task list, contact record access from scheduled appointments, and the ability to view customer interactions and sales opportunities. Users can synchronize over 50 pre-defined fields and up to 15 custom fields, as well as view each contact's group and company membership whether the contact was manually added to the ACT! database or dynamically added based on defined criteria. A custom field view can be used to create a snapshot of the ten most critical data fields that a user regularly accesses. Application graphics, activities and calendars all appear in color so users can view items by priority. ACT! for Palm OS retails at www.act.com for US $99.99 per user (upgrades are $69.95 per user).
