SymbianGuru also released version 2.0 of its Expenses expense tracking software for Series 60 3rd edition phones. The update adds password protection, customizable colors and fonts, and customizable expense categories. Also, a bug with big numbers import was fixed. Expenses 2.0 can track all kinds of expenses, create customized on-screen reports and export expenses records into CSV format for MS Excel. Expenses is available at Handango.

Quentin has released GETrack for UIQ 3.x, its GPS tracking software that lets users record tracking data from a Bluetooth GPS receiver and send the track via Bluetooth to a PC for instant use with "Google Earth". Files can then be sent by email to friends or can be uploaded to a website. GETrack is available is available at Handango for S60, but not yet for UIQ.


Oxygen Software announced OxyCube 1.0, the third generation of its Oxygen Phone Manager information backup and transfer software for transfering data between Windows PCs and Nokia S60 or Sony Ericsson UIQ phones. OxyCube is designed to be a better alternative to standard data transfer software from phone manufacturers, such as Nokia PC Suite, Sony Ericsson PC Suite, Samsung PC Studio, etc. OxyCube is available from oxygensoftware.com.

Fring released Fring version 3.3 for UIQ, the OS on Sony Ericsson phones. Fring is a mobile internet service and community that enables users to access and interact with their social networks, make free Internet calls and chat live with fring, Skype, MSN Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, SIP, Twitter, Yahoo!, and AIM friends. The new version includes features such as file transfer, shat improvements, more languages, privacy settings, and "fringtones." Users can make local and international calls to landline and regular cell numbers using a SkypeOut/SkypeIn account, or almost any SIP-based Internet voice service, such as SIPNET, EuteliaVoIP, VoIPVoIP, and VoIPTalk, and from non-SIP enabled handsets. Fring is compatible with Symbian 8, 9.1, 9.2, Windows Mobile 5 & 6 and UIQ handsets.

Windows Mobile

PhatWare has released version 5.2 of its PhatNotes notes organizer. A key new feature added to PhatNotes 5.2 is the ability to configure the software's "context analyzer" directly on the mobile device - enabling users to adjust their settings while on-the-go. The Context Analyzer lets users to access websites, send emails, make phone calls, or even open files or execute applications just by tapping on words that are recognized as website URLs, email addresses, phone numbers, or a custom command. Other new features in PhatNotes 5.2 include support for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Windows Mobile 6.1, a new desktop UI theme, support for regular expression when searching or filtering notes by text on the phone, and improved usability and performance.

For new users, PhatNotes 5.2 sells for $39.95 at phatware.com or $35.96 at Handango. (PPC and Smartphone). V. 5.2 is a free upgrade for all registered uses of PhatNotes 5.X. All other registered users of previous versions of PhatNotes can purchase the latest version for a special upgrade price of $24.95.

Speereo has announced Speereo Voice Reminder, which can automatically inform a user of various types of events such as meetings, appointments, calls, etc. Voice Reminder lets users attach a voice file to any appointment, and set it to play back the voice file when a reminder is needed. Speero is controlled by speech commands. 15-day Trial is available for evaluation purposes. According to Speero, Voice Reminder is compatible with all Windows Mobile devices. Smartphone).

SplashData announced a Windows Mobile version (to compliment the exisiting Palm OS version) of its popular SplashMoney personal finance application. SplashMoney lets users instantly download their most recent banking account activities through a wireless connection. Users can then securely record transactions, track account balances, generate reports and budgets, and manage finances while on the go. SplashMoney features a streamlined user interface, charting of financial data, the ability to assign icons to transactions, transaction filtering, and bank account reconciliation. Changes made to both mobile and desktop versions will be retained and merged into one up-to-date file upon synchronization, rather than the most recently updated version overwriting the other version. SplashData has built-in secure password protection using 256-bit Blowfish encryption. SplashData sells for $13.45 at Handango (PPC and Smartphone).
