Symbian

SymbianGuru has released Cute Keys, a shortcut creator that lets users create keyboard shortcuts to often-used applications, documents, multimedia files, websites, calls, messages editor and more. Shortcuts let users quickly open applications or files, change Bluetooth status, send calls or messages to often-used numbers, send email messages, etc. Shortcuts can be set with two, three or even four buttons depending on phone model. More shortcuts you can set on mobile phones with QWERTY keyboard, which allows you more possibilities as the keyboard is similar to PC keyboard. Windows Mobile

X-Act! Software has released v4.0 of its KnowledgeWorx and HandiWorx applications for Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices. The new versions offer improved features for including picture images in deployed content, productivity accelerators, and more deployment options. KnowledgeWorx content may be reused on Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices using HandiWorx, or in Web/HTML (and Rich Text documents) using HandiWorx WebExpress. Electric Pocket announced that its LobsterTunes MP3 player will enable TVersity users to stream music from TVersity (tversity.com) to their device locally and remotely. TVersity lets users organize and personalize their home and Internet multimedia collection (images, video and audio, such as from such as podcasts and YouTube) and have universal access to it from any device. Ilium Software has released eWallet 6.0, the latest version of its information security software. Thanks to a partnership with WebIS, version 6.0 combines eWallet and WebIS' FlexWallet into one program. New features and improvements include 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard encryption as required by US government agencies; automatic backups; and 200 free new icons and 10 card background graphics for personalization. Version 6.0 also offers eWallet security for other important documents; and two ways of viewing data: there is Flex View for an easy-to-browse list, or Card View so data looks like it's on real cards. All eligible FlexWallet licenses have been converted to eWallet licenses, so the same upgrade policies will apply to current registered users of both FlexWallet and eWallet. eWallet Standard for Pocket PC is $17.95 at Handango, and the Professional version is $26.95 at Handango. eWallet Standard for Smartphone is $17.95 at Handango, and eWallet Professional for Smartphone is $26.95 at Handango.

Vito Technology has released FunContact v2.0, a contacts application replacement for Pocket PCs. New features include a sliding keypad for dialing numbers missing from the user's contacts, and contact editing within the application. Also, the calls in call history are now grouped by the type of call and date. All calls for the same contact are grouped separately for each day, and the user will see only the latest call even if that contact made several calls. FunContact is US $19.95 at vitotechnology.com. FunContact for Pocket PC is $17.95 at Handango.

VoiceIt Technologies has updated its VoiceDialIt voice dialing app that lets users dial by speaking contacts' names. The software can also be "trained" to understand the user's voice. VoiceDialIt v2.0 for Pocket PC is $22.45 at Handango, and the Dec. 2006 "VoiceDialer" software for Smartphone is $14.35, also at Handango.

Windows

NewSoft America is offering its "Presto!" wireless presentation software bundled on its new Presto! 512MB WMS 200 USB flash drive. The software runs directly from the drive, and wirelessly broadcasts presentations, video, audio, and pictures from a WiFi-ready laptop to a projector or display. The software controls access to the wireless adapter and offers a simple interface. The Presto! flash drive is $44.95 and is available at newsoftinc.com.
