BlackBerry

DDH Software released a major update to its HanDBase relational database app for BlackBerry, Palm OS, Windows Mobile, and Symbian S60 devices. Version 4.0 includes new synchronization features, improved security, and user interface and database design enhancements. Users can design their own databases or use any of the thousands of applets that have been created and submitted to ddhsoftware.com by HanDBase users.

SplashData has released v4.0 of its SplashID password manager for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry. The new version, released in July for Palm/Treo devices, offers improved features for security, convenience and connectivity, including Active URL links, additional data fields, an enhanced Password Generator, and the ability to email records. SplashID 4 costs US $29.95 at Handango. Current users can upgrade for $9.95. SplashID may also be purchased in a bundle as part of the SplashWallet Suite, which includes SplashID, SplashMoney, SplashPhoto and SplashShopper for $59.95 at Handango. A free 30-day trial version is available.

Trimble announced the availability of three of its GPS phone applications for GSM-based BlackBerry smartphones with built-in GPS, including the BlackBerry 8800, 8820 and Curve 8310. The applications are Trimble's AllSport GPS fitness tracking software, Geocache Navigator treasure hunt software, and Trimble Outdoors outdoor trip planning and navigation software. Mac / iPhone

Funambol has released an open source native app for iPhone contact synchronization. The Funambol plug-in for iPhone synchronizes the iPhone's address book with contacts from popular sources such as Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, GNOME Evolution and SyncML servers such as the Funambol server. To learn more and download the software, see funambol.com. Palm OS

RoGame Software has released Destaller Pro v3.0, its application uninstaller. Destaller removes applications and any additional files associated with them. Destaller can also maximize a device's memory by removing single files, 'a68k' Files, saved and unsaved preference, etc. Destaller Pro for Palm OS costs US $14.95. It comes as a free lite version, with the Pro version offering more features and deletion capabilities.

Shape Services has updated RDM+ Remote Desktop, which lets Palm OS users remotely access a home or laptop computer even through NAT and firewalls. Users can send and receive emails, surf web, edit documents in word processor, copy, cut, paste files or folders, among othe things. RDM+ uses strong encryption protocols to securely connect to the user's Windows XP or Vista computer. The latest version adds Centro support and usability improvements. RDM+ v3.6.6 for Palm OS costs US $31.45 at Handango. It comes with a seven day trial.

VoiceIt Technologies has updated their VoiceDialIt software for Palm OS and Windows Mobile. VoiceDialIt lets users dial existing contacts by simply stating their name, and users can also train the software to "recognize" their voice. The latest version for Palm OS brings Palm Centro support, updated voice libraries and a few minor UI updates. VoiceDialIt v2.07 sells for US $17.95 at Handango. It also comes with a free trial period.
