Geodesic has announced versions of its Mundu IM app for Windows Mobile and Sony Ericsson UIQ phones. Mundu IM lets users connect to others on AIM, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, Google Talk, and Jabber. Currently, the Windows Mobile and UIQ versions are only available at geodesic.com. Handango sells Mundu IM for Palm for for US $9.90. For more on Mundu, see Geodesic's summary page on MobileVillage.

--- Symbian only ---

LevelUp Mobile Software has released Expense Calendar, a Symbian Series 60 application for tracking business and personal expenses. Users can record, edit, and review expenses and report totals in different categories and by date or payment type. The password-protected application also includes a calendar and currency converter. Data can be expoted in the common CSV format, for use in Microsoft Excel and other personal expense managers. Expense Calendar is US $13.45 on Handango, and a free trial is available.

--- Palm only ---

Hobbyist Software has released a new version of its utility Show Off v1.10 for Palm OS, which helps users avoid missed calls by automatically changing their phone's default color theme when it's placed in silent mode. The app can also be set to change the LED color. Show Off is only US $4.50 on Handango.

Resco has updated Resco Neeews! newsreader, which lets users choose to have news delivered from from over 500 news feeds and websites. Users can define customized "newspapers" and view items in a river of news style layout. Version 2.31 adds support for new devices, a new auto-update scheduler, simplified menus, image saving and improved search. Resco Neeews! is $17.95 on Handango, and a free trial is available.

--- Palm & Windows Mobile ---

Corsoft has introduced Warden, a mobile security application. For Bluetooth headset wearers that somehow lose connectivity with their mobile, Warden will cause the mobile to immediately lock up and play a tune or vocal message, so that someone will hear it try to locate the phone owner. If a phone is found, the phone can display a reward for its return, or it can display an option to call the owner. For devices containing sensitive information, users can set data to auto-destruct either based on the time duration of the phone lock, or based on the number of attempts made to unlock the device. --- BlackBerry & Windows Mobile ---

Skylab Mobilesystems has updated its MobileTracker tracklog application to version 1.4. MobileTracker can record various tracklogs, including elevation and configurable timespan between positions. The latest version adds KMZ and GPX tracklog export formats, BlackBerry camera support, and advanced statistics. Users can also show their tracklogs in Google Earth or publish them with Google Maps. Handango offers MobileTracker for BlackBerry ($24) and Windows Mobile Pocket PC ($27). The Smartphone version is only available at skylab-mobilesystems.com.

Handmark announced a new version of its Pocket Express mobile information service for S60 Third Edition devices such as Nokia's E-series and N-series. Pocket Express, which is also available for BlackBerry, Palm, and Windows Mobile platforms, delivers financial market updates, flight status from global airports, cinema show times, MobileCierge service, and the Oxford Dictionary and Thesaurus. MobiMate announced that its WorldMate travel application is now available for free to users of the Symbian UIQ 3.x and Windows Mobile Standard devices. WorldMate for the Symbian UIQ platform supports Sony Ericsson's M600, P990, W950, P1 and W960, as well as Motorola's MOTORIZR Z8. Free services include world clocks, global weather, measurements, day/night map, currency converter and clothing size converter. The Standard Ed. for Pocket PC ($34.95 at Handango) also includes flight status and weather satellite imagery. The for Professional Ed. for Pocket PC ($74.95 at Handango) adds flight schedules, area codes, and an interactive packing list. WorldMate's Professional for Smartphone ($39.95 at Handango) Professional Ed. for S60 ($49.95 at Handango), and Professional Ed. for UIQ ($69.95 at Handango) each include all of the above features.
