Aiko
Solutions released SecuBox 1.3, an application for
encrypting sensitive information carried on Windows Mobile devices.
SecuBox uses AES 256-bit encryption, and files deleted on storage
media cannot be restored by any means; the wiping methods are
in compliance with the US Department of Defense DoD5220.22-M specification.
SecuBox claims to also prolong the life of PDA flash memory cards.
When a Windows Mobile app intensively writes data to the encrypted
storage volume, SecuBox optimizes the write process, thus reducing
wear and tear on the memory card. SecuBox runs on all Windows
Mobile editions, including Pocket PC and Smartphone. The software
is available in English and Japanese, and can be trial downloaded
or purchased on
Handango for US $35.96 or $39.95 for one user. Volume and
academic pricing is available at aikosolutions.com.
