Centennial
Software has announced support for Windows CE-based devices
in its Centennial Discovery mobile asset management software.
Audit information collected by the new client agents includes
the devices' operating system, attached memory, hardware configuration,
software installations and file types. Other additions to Centennial
Discovery include support for Intel-based Mac computers, improved
recognition of Layer 3 switches, and the ability to audit Win64-based

Grisoft
has released a beta of AVG Mobile Security for Symbian
UIQ 3.0-based mobile phones. It includes SMS antispam and
anti-virus, together with 'advanced functions' such as comprehensive
system settings for scan scheduling and creating whitelists. For

Miyowa
announced that its MoveMessenger advertising platform for
wireless operators that wish to serve ads on IM apps. According
to the company, the MoveMessenger client interface can connect
to all IM applications and provides advertising features via the

Bowes MapInfo released v 9.0 of MapInfo Professional,
its flagship application for business mapping and analysis. New
in version 9.0 is support for the Microsoft Windows Vista platform,
enhanced database support, direct access to more data formats,

Services released a new version of its IM+ for Skype software
for BlackBerry smartphones. IM+ for Skype Software by SHAPE
Services is a mobile client for Skype Software. It enables voice
and text communication with other Skype users as well as calling
to landline or mobile connections. The software uses SkypeOut
credits for calls to any number around the globe. For users of
Skype Unlimited plan (US $29.95 per year) IM+ enables almost free
calling from a BlackBerry smartphone to any PC with Skype or any

StyleTap
has released an update of its StyleTap Platform Palm
OS emulation software that runs Palm OS applications on Windows
Mobile Pocket PCs and smartphones. StyleTap v1.1 adds support
for barcode scanners found in industrial handhelds from Intermec
and Motorola-Symbol. A 14-day trial download of the StyleTap Platform
is available at styletap.com, and the software retails for about
$50.
Syware
released a version of its Visual CE database development
software for Windows Mobile Smartphone devices without
touchscreens, such as the Motorola Q and Samsung BlackJack. Besides
Smartphone devices, Visual CE also allows companies to build applications
for Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Pocket PC Phone Edition. The
Smartphone-supporting releases of Visual CE are free to most registered
