Nov. 17, 2006 -- Following is a roundup of recent announcements
of consumer mobile software.
DataViz
has released version 9 of its Documents To Go software
for the Palm OS platform. Documents To Go allows users to create,
view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files as well
as view Adobe PDF files on a mobile device. Version 9 includes
the addition of InTact Technology which ensures that ALL file
formatting is kept "intact" when editing and e-mailing
office files on a handheld or smartphone.
Other new
features include: an integrated file explorer, a new user interface,
updates to Word To Go, Sheet To Go and Slideshow To Go. Customers
who have a previous version or who received the Professional Edition
on their Palm branded device can upgrade for US $29.99.

Developer
One released Agenda One (screenshot at right), a time,
contact and task management application for Windows Mobile
5 Pocket PC and Smartphone users. Agenda One's search feature
lets users instantly find contacts by name, number, email,
company, city, zip code and more. The software's time filtering
feature automatically hides business items on the weekend
or hides personal details during a week day. Agenda One
also lets uers organize categories, assign icons to schedule
items, and personalize the look and feel.

Handmark
has released v5.0 of its Zagat to Go application for PDAs
and smartphones. Besides its restaurant listings, version 5.0
adds top hotels, resorts and spa guide listings and the America's
Top Golf Courses guide. Zagat to Go also offers automated wireless
content and rating updates, street-level maps, and turn-by-turn
driving directions.
Version 5.0
also adds the latest 2007 Zagat guides including America's Top
Restaurants, New York City Restaurants, San Francisco Restaurants
and Los Angeles Restaurants as well as ongoing monthly content
updates. Also, for those who are traveling abroad, the new International
Dialing Support feature promises one-click calling to restaurants
and hotels, according to Handmark.
Zagat to
Go v5.0 works on Palm OS, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile Pocket
PCs and Smartphones can be installed from either Windows or Macintosh
computers. Version 5.0 is a free upgrade for existing customers,
$24.95 for renewing customers and $29.95 for new purchasers. A
retail package with CD-ROM and a one-year subscription is also
due at Fry's Electronics, J&R Music and Computer World, and
Airport Wireless stores at 26 major airports. For details, see
