devices. MobiVoIP requires the Palm device to be able to connect
to the Internet through Bluetooth, WiFi (802.11), or EVDO. MobiVoIP
is offered as a monthly service with various calling plans designed

in version 3.0 and includes improved networking functionality.
Client-server mobile applications can be built using serial, USB,
Ethernet, Wi-Fi or mobile phone connections interfacing to back
office corporate applications like ERP and financials. Version
3.0's integrated MobiScript language includes file and data transfer
commands using any given IP address and port combination with
TCP/IP. Version 3.0 also includes a new image object type for
JPG and GIF file support. This latest release maintains existing

NCP Engineering
has added Windows Mobile 5.0 device support to its mobile IPsec
Virtual Private Network (VPN) client. Secure Entry CE Client
is compatible with VPN gateways from several manufacturers, and
provides end-to-end security even from public hotspots, according
to the company. The software automatically reconnects in the event
of interruption during data transfer, according to NCP. For push
email services, a special connection mode ensures automatic re-establishment
of the VPN tunnel to the central VPN gateway.
CE Client also includes support of various authentication processes
such as one-time password processes (OTP tokens) and certificate-based
processes (soft certificates, multimedia card) for setting up
secure VPN connections. An integrated Personal Firewall is also
included. A full 30-day evaluation version of Entry CE Client
can be downloaded at www.ncp.de.

IP filters for Wi-Fi, UMTS, GPRS, Bluetooth, and USB, protecting
mobile appliances in two directions: a filter package monitors
both sent and received data. The entire TCP/IP traffic between
the computer and the Internet is thus under permanent surveillance,
according to the company. For details and a 10-day download test
version, see protectstar.com.
