News from MercuryMD, PatientKeeper & Unbound Medicine

Feb. 22, 2006 -- (MobileVillage) -- The huge Heatlhcare Information Management Systems Society conference took place last week, and among the buzz are a few noteworthy announcements in mobile software applications.

Unbound Medicine has released the popular Emergency Medicine Manual for PDA. The reference covers the range of clinical problems seen by emergency physicians, and provides recommendations for diagnosis, management and drug therapy. New coverage includes sections on bioterrorism and weapons of mass destruction. Emergency Medicine Manual has been endorsed by the American College of Emergency Physicians. EMM includes 123 tables that can be read with Unbound's table viewer.

MercuryMD announced that its MData mobile patient information resource for physicians will be available for use with RIM BlackBerry mobile devices by early third quarter of 2006. MData provides physicians with access to patient information via PDAs, smartphones and other Web-enabled devices.

The company also announced that its MData Desktop software has a new feature called the tracking board. The tracking board aims to provide nurses and other clinicians with an intuitive group view of receive real-time updates on their patients, and incorporates push technology to alert caregivers to new information. The new information is populated to the screen the moment it is available in the system. The tracking board is designed specifically for use with touch-screens in a multi-user environment such as a nursing station, and is currently available now.

MercuryMD also announced two new upcoming products called MData Handoff and MData ESign for release this summer. MData ESign provides physicians with electronic access to deficient orders and reports via mobile devices, tablet PCs, laptops and desktop PCs. MData Handoff will provide a centralized location from which clinicians can access a care team's handoff lists via mobile devices, tablet PCs, laptops or desktop computers. Each member of the care team is able to track and edit patients' Dx, code status, allergies, problem lists, and to-do tasks with visibility into a patient's meds, labs and reports.

PatientKeeper announced eight new applications and an integrated suite called the Physician Information System (PIS) portfolio.

In PatientKeeper's Patient Care Suite, new applications include an Ambulatory Order Entry that allows physicians to enter orders for lab tests, diagnostic images, and other outpatient procedures; a Task Manager that streamlines patient hand-off and sign-out; and a Clinical Surveillance component that automates monitoring and identification of key patient populations.

PatientKeeper's Charge Capture Suite also includes a new application -- PatientKeeper Analytics -- that allows physicians, office managers, billing staff, and administrators to perform extensive analysis on their billing patterns and charge submission process.

PatientKeeper's Documentation Suite includes three new applications. PatientKeeper Forms captures forms data, automatically populates forms with relevant patient information, and routes forms to the appropriate destination -- either on paper or via EDI. PatientKeeper NoteWriter provides lets physicians create templated notes that are automatically pre-populated with the most current patient information. And the new PatientKeeper eSignature enables physicians to sign clinical notes and orders from a handheld PDA, laptop, wireless tablet, or desktop.

PatientKeeper's Communications Suite includes one new application -- PatientKeeper Messaging -- that allows physicians to securely send messages and requests to other caregivers and automatically provide links to the relevant patient information
