12, 2006 -- (MobileVillage) -- Here is roundup to-date of
noteworthy new or updated software for mobile business users.
Amodat
Technologies
released version 7.0 of its Mobile Desktop suite of mobile
workforce applications. Version 7.0 also includes upgraded
technology support and added modules to Amodat's mobile CRM,
sales and field service applications. Specific new features
include: faster download synchronization, a customization
wizard, database field mapping tool, Windows Mobile 5.0 support,
landscape screen view option.
For administrators,
version 7.0 also includes a mobile worker route planning add-on.
Mobile users can now schedule service calls and activities
for another person. The mobile sales application now includes
a list of last sales prices with reference documents, such
as invoices, sale dates, quantities, discounts and prices;
as well as a new Photo Album feature that allows sales reps
to show images of their products.
Amodat
also introduced a new warehouse application that consists
of four modules: a Goods Receipt module that lists PO or A/P
Invoice based on a purchase order; a Show Room modle that
lets users create orders directly from the show room with
a barcode-integrated PDA; an Order Validation module that
lets users create a delivery note or invoice based on an order;
and Inventory Count module for use with a barcode-integrated
PDA.

Idokorro
Mobile has released version 3.1 of its Mobile Admin remote
server administration software. New features include enhanced
Oracle administration, all-new Citrix administration, customizable
security, RSA administration enhancements, and other feature
additions for Active Directory, SQL Server, BlackBerry Enterprise
Server, Novell and Windows administration.
Idokorro
also now allows access to Mobile Admin 3.1 through a web interface
so that administrators can access and manage their networks
from any desktop or laptop that has an Internet connection.
Mobile
Admin offers the ability to perform a full range of network
management functions from a wireless handheld device, including
managing Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL,
as well as IBM Lotus Domino, Novell, Oracle, and Citrix servers.
It supports most BlackBerry, Nokia, Smartphones, Pocket PC
and Palm devices.

MobileDataforce
announced version 3.0 of its PointSync software suite for
developing and operating end-to-end mobile software applications
on handheld computers that synchronize with in-house enterprise
database applications.
PointSync
3.0 is a graphics-rich development environment that enables
users to develop end-to-end mobile applications with minimal
coding. Over 130 pre-built functions are packaged in PointSync.
Programmer object models can be viewed graphically, and developers
can also view applications in XML.
PointSync
lets database application administrators create a mobile client
that can be used on handheld computers, and synchronized with
existing database applications. Typical applications include
work order management, inspections, route and delivery, field
sales, and asset management.

MobiForms
has released version 2.21 of its MobiForms rapid application
development (RAD) developer tool for mobile applications
on Windows CE, Pocket PC, EPOC/Symbian and Palm. Version 2.21
adds signature capture and sketching capabilities, plus additional
commands in the simple MobiScript language such as if, end
if and loops. The new version also has improved support for
Oracle and Sybase databases. Alternatively, with no database
installed MobiForms can be programmed to read or write to

SolutionPlanet
released version 4.5 of its "mail-e-on-air" mobile
email software solution for IBM Lotus Domino 7. For end
users, the new version has a more configurable start page
so that users can select the information of most interest
as they access their mail file. The new version also provides
more information about e-mails -- for example showing if en
e-mail has been replied to or forwarded.
For administrators,
version 4.5 also promises improved security via configurable
restricted access to certain areas of the mail-file. To increase
speed and to minimise the use of bandwidth, images can now
be automatically down-sized before they are sent to the mobile
device.
Version
4.5 of mail-e-on-air supports Lotus Domino 7 and all servers
in version 6.x. The software is available for download from
http://mail-e-on-air.com. Existing mail-e-on-air users can
upgrade for free.
Susteen
announced its DataPilot Secure View cell phone software
that allows law enforcement, corporate security, and computer
forensics consultants to acquire valuable contact information
from seized mobile phones. DataPilot Secure View is compatible
with Microsoft Windows and sells for US $645. For more information,
