September
26, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today
introduced T-Ticket mobile citation software bundled with
the Trimble Recon rugged handheld computer. T-Ticket aims
to allow officers in the field to query national and regional
databases wirelessly for automatic completion of violator
information.
The announcement was made today at the 112th Annual Conference
of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
T-Ticket's step-by-step screens and auto-fill fields aim
to help officers write tickets faster and more accurately.
Officers can use T-Ticket's wireless connection to query regional
and national databases to auto-complete much of the citation
information. They can also check on a person's outstanding
tickets or warrants, run a license plate check and upload
the completed citations to the police department's database.
Trimble says its Recon handheld computer meets MIL-STD-810F
military standards for drops, vibration and temperature extremes,
and is impervious to water and dust with an IP67 rating. The
Recon's color touchscreen includes both day and night setting.
The Recon weighs just 17 ounces, its rounded edges provide
a comfortable grip, and it comes with a 15-hour rechargeable
NiMH battery.
Trimble developed T-Ticket with input from police departments
and the Portland Police Bureau in Oregon served as a beta
test site.
The T-Ticket mobile citation software is available now directly
from Trimble.
