Clerkship" PDA reference

Sept.
29, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Tech S2, Inc. has released
CaseScribe, a wireless dictation and web-based transcription
service that uses speech recognition. CaseScribe captures
remotely dictated voice notes, automatically transcribes them,
and securely makes the transcription available via any standard
web browser within an hour or less at any time, according
to Tech S2.
Using
CaseScribe's voice recording software, users dictate remotely
using a Windows Mobile handheld (with wireless Internet access)
or PDA phone (with Internet access), as a voice dictation
recorder input device. The dictations are then securely uploaded
to the CaseScribe application server and the transcribed dictation
is stored, and ready for review in an hour or less.
Users
are able to securely access their transcriptions online at
any time, from any location, using a PC with a standard web
browser and high-speed Internet access. Transcriptions can
also be viewed on the handheld. Using the CaseScribe web site,
users, or their staff, can securely review, edit, copy, and
email their transcriptions -- even listen to the original
dictation. In addition, with a click of the mouse, users can
drag and drop the transcription text into their patient record,
or electronic medical record (EMR) system. CaseScribe transcriptions
can be edited by the existing office staff, or the physician.
To use
CaseScribe in group practices with multiple users, users need
handhelds and a wireless network (802.11) with Internet access.
Individual mobile users only need a PDA phone with an Internet
connection.
CaseScribe
is HIPAA compliant, utilizing 128 bit SSL technology data
encryption, and fully redundant and mirrored servers, ensuring
reliable, uninterrupted and secure service. CaseScribe utilizes
ScanSoft Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software,
enabling the automatic conversion of speech into text with
97% accuracy, at a rate of up to 160 words per minute, supporting
multiple languages and medical vocabularies, according to
the companies.
Individual
speaker training is completed online, and requires 10 minutes
of dictation to create a speaker voice profile. With a click
of the mouse, users can continually train their speaker voice
profile, and increase accuracy up to as much as 99%, claims
CaseScribe.
