Edited by Gary Thayer
Sept.
6, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- eClinicalWorks today released
version 6.7 of its integrated EMR and practice management
software, which provides both in-house and remote access.
New features
in version 6.7 include: click-thru technology, forms by specialty,
future lab and test management functionality, progress note
customization, medical summary screens, BubbleSheet scanning,
routed electronic documents, personalized provider settings,
MedicScan interface, facility color indicators and enhanced
scheduling screens.
eClinicalWorks
6.7 consists of two major components: eClinicalWorks EMR and
eClinicalWorks PM. The EMR component allows physician practices
to manage the patient flow, specifically letting practices
access patient records immediately-either in-house or via
remote access-electronically communicate with the referring
physicians and securely send consult notes and clinical data.
eClinicalWorks
PM is used for billing, allowing practices to submit claims
electronically, track the status of claims and communicate
online with payers to confirm patient eligibility, what services
will be paid and when.
Details of the new features:
- New
click-thru technology for the ROS, HIP, Exam and Assessments
allow physicians to bring forward documentation from the patient's
previous visits directly on the Progress Notes. This creates
an even faster mechanism for documenting follow-up visits.
-
BubbleSheet Scanning: BubbleSheet forms can be created
by the practice and given to patients to fill in the information
based on the Review of Symptoms, Social History, Family History
and Medical History. This form is scanned into the application
and automatically documents the progress note with the selections
made by the patient.
-
Specialty Forms: Version 6.7 includes forms geared toward
specific specialties, including OB flow sheets, cardiology
procedure development documents, orthopedic specialty forms,
ophthalmology, surgery, allergy forms and many more.
- The
Medical Summary screen provides an overview of the
patient's current chart activity and has been improved with
a new web-based view including the patient picture, the ability
to fax the summary and more direct interaction with the patient's
chart.
-
Referrals can now be created by searching for the referring
provider based on whether he/she accepts the patient's primary
insurance plan. The referring physician can also be searched
for by specialty.
eClinicalWorks
6.7 is available on a per-seat and hosted model. Licensed
software costs US $10,000 for the first provider and $5,000
for each additional provider. Subscription pricing is $400
per month for the first provider, with a 10 percent discount
for each additional provider. A hosted model is available
at $400 per month per provider and hosting fees of $100 per
provider. For information, see eClinicalWorks.com.
