Sendia, iAnywhere, SolutionPlanet release mobile sales software
updates

14, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- At Salesforce.com's (NYSE:CRM)
Dreamforce users conference this week, Sendia and iAnywhere
separately announced software updates that support Salesforce.com
customers. Separately, SolutionPlanet has updated its CRM
(customer relationship management) software for mobile phones.
SolutionPlanet
has released version 3.0 of crm-on-air, software that
enables sales reps to view information on a standard mobile
phone and act upon it. The software is designed to access
most standard Notes/Domino based contact managers and can
be customized to access any solution even custom built ones
and does not require any in-house programming, according to
SolutionPlanet.
Version
3.0 has built in support for VIC (Vital Information Centre)
an open source contact manager available through openNTF.
It also support SolutionPlanet's enhanced security feature
temporary on-air passwords as well as extended support for
distributed solutions.
Release
3.0 is available for download from SolutionPlanet.com.
iAnywhere
Solutions, a subsidiary of Sybase, announced Sales
Anywhere for Salesforce. Sales Anywhere provides handheld
access to key sales tools, such as CRM, ERP, intranet and
legacy systems.
New features
of Sales Anywhere include the following:
- Support
for additional languages, with all support languages being:
English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Swedish and Brazilian
Portuguese.
- Support
for Account Management and Opportunity Management (including
access to product line items and schedules) as well as associated
contacts, activities, and tasks.
- Initiating
and tracking of e-mail and phone conversations directly
from within Sales Anywhere on the mobile device.
- Search
(simple and advanced) and sort list views to quickly find
information.
- Customer
information and application updates (including any customization
changes) delivered automatically at synchronization.
- Customizations
such as custom fields, record type/page layout, renamed
tabs, and sharing rules are now automatically applied. Data
filtering is provided automatically through the salesforce.com
Offline Briefcase.
iAnywhere's
Sales Anywhere for Salesforce works on Windows Mobile Pocket
PC and Pocket PC Phone devices, and on Palm OS 5 devices such
as the Treo 650 and Tungsten T5. iAnywhere plans to add support
for RIM BlackBerry devices expected later this year. BlackBerry
users can register for the Sales Anywhere Early Adopter Program
at ianywhere.com/salesanybbadopter.

Sendia
announced that Sendia's WorkSpace CRM now supports
Salesforce.com's Appforce. WorkSpace CRM lets Salesforce.com
customers mobile-enable not only their own customizations
but also any application built on Appforce, such as the 70
applications that are being previewed in AppExchange, Salesforce.com's
new application sharing service.
Launched
today, AppExchange features dozens of pre-built applications
created by Salesforce.com users and partners. Applications
can be shared, exchanged and installed with any Salesforce.com
account. AppExchange can be found at Salesforce.com/appexchange.
AppExchange
applications include bug tracking systems, travel & expense,
human resources and others, all available as custom tabs within
the salesforce.com. Customers can bundle their Salesforce
custom objects together to create entirely new mobile applications
that are unique to a particular user or group within an organization,
with the new functionality appearing as a self-generated tab
within the Wireless CRM application on their handheld devices,
according to Sendia.
