Mobility Electronics adds power adapter for power-hungry notebooks,
PCs
August
15, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Mobility Electronics announced
today that it is now shipping the new iGo wall 160 power adapter,
a universal AC adapter designed for power-hungry notebook
computers with features such as large screens, high-end video
cards and desktop processors.
The iGo wall 160 power adapter is a new, more powerful, generation
of Mobility's line of universal AC high-power adapters and
provides up to 160 watts of power. As with all iGo power adapters,
the voltage and current are automatically regulated to OEM
specifications.
Bundled with the iGo dualpower accessory, the adapter allows
users to simultaneously charge notebook computers and other
low-power mobile electronic (ME) devices such as mobile phones,
PDAs, MP3 players, and digital cameras. Each package also
includes several interchangeable tips to support a variety
of portable computers.
The iGo wall 160 power adapter and the branded versions manufactured
for Mobility's strategic partners include the following key
features:
- Included iGo dualpower accessory -- enables simultaneous
powering of a notebook computer plus a low-power mobile
electronic device such as a mobile phone, handheld/PDA,
digital camera, or MP3 player.
- Up to 160 watts of output power -- supports 90 and 120
watt notebooks with features such as large screens, high-end
video cards and desktop-replacement processors.
- Automatic voltage and current regulation -- eliminates
the need to select voltage manually and ensures portable
computers and other devices receive the appropriate amount
of power.
- Power Factor Correction -- balances the AC power circuit
so that as little reactive power as possible is formed.
- Automatic temperature protection
- Mobility Electronics' patented itip technology -- allows
users to power and charge virtually all major brands of
ME devices with a single adapter and interchangeable tips.
- Compatibity with most RVs, European trucks, military and
police vehicles, etc.
- Certification for use in European Union Countries.
The adapter
now available for purchase online at: www.igo.com, and is
expected to be available at RadioShack stores nationwide in
August.
