DDH HanDBase database application adds support for Series
60 handsets
August
15, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- DDH Software has announced
a new version of its HanDBase relational database application
for owners of Symbian Series 60 handsets, such as those by
Nokia, Panasonic, Sendo and Siemens. The Series 60 application
of HanDBase builts on the versions already available for Palm
OS and Windows Mobile-based (formerly Pocket PC) handhelds.
The Series
60 version of HanDBase comes with a desktop version that enables
users to create and manage their information before transferring
the data to their mobile devices. Data can be easily viewed,
edited, filtered, sorted, and searched on the desktop or the
mobile.
The HanDBase Desktop application lets users design their own
databases from scratch or start from any of the thousands
of free applets available from the DDH Software web site --
all of which have been created and submitted by HanDBase users.
Users
can then transfer the database to the Series 60 handset, and/or
export files in Excel, Word, CSV, HTML or XML formats.
Another useful feature of HanDBase Desktop is its "plug-in
architecture" for third party add-on applications. For
example, a user can automate repetitive tasks such as exporting,
importing, running external programs, or seamlessly moving
data between HanDBase and other formats such as Microsoft
Access, and other ODBC sources.
HanDBase
for Series 60 retails for US $19.99 and is available from
DDHSoftware.com, or Handango.com.
