LANDesk
today started shipping version 8.6 of its LANDesk Management

The new
release offers patented technology for securely managing systems
over the internet via the LANDesk Management Gateway technology,
as well as support for Intel Active Management Technology.
The LANDesk Management Gateway leverages existing Internet
connections and infrastructure and does not require a VPN
or dedicated leased line to enable endpoint security and configuration
management, according to LANDesk.
With integrated Intel Active
Management Technology support, administrators can now
perform out of band device discovery and remotely heal systems
regardless of OS or system state. Extended recovery and troubleshooting
tools enable remote problem resolution from a single, centralized
console even when the remote computer is unresponsive, according
to LANDesk.
Also new to version 8.6 is improved and expanded role-based
administration, reporting and software distribution, and Macintosh
and Linux management capabilities.

pricing for current LANDesk Management Suite customers is
also available.

that also includes upgrades to the LANDesk Security Suite
and LANDesk Server Manager product lines.
