Fujitsu follows the tiny tablet-notebook trend with 9"

8, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Fujitsu Computer Systems today
announced the LifeBook P1500, its smallest notebook that converts
into a slate tablet.

The LifeBook
P1500 is slightly larger than a DVD case and weighs
2.2 pounds. It has a 8.9" wide SVGA touch screen
display that can be used in tablet mode or laptop mode.
The screen rotates and tilts to switch between the two. |
The LifeBook P1500 -- the successor to the LifeBook P1000
-- is powered by an Intel Pentium M Processor Ultra Low Voltage
753 and 915GMS chipset that has up to 1GB of system memory.
The notebook also has a biometric fingerprint swipe sensor.
For connectivity, the P1500 has built-in modem, LAN and optional
Atheros Super AG WLAN with dual diversity antennas.
In addition to converting from a notebook into a tablet,
the P1500 notebook can be converted into a desktop PC. With
industry standard ports and card slots, it's possible to attach
a standard keyboard or large screen monitor. An optional docking
station is also available.
The LifeBook P1500 comes with Microsoft Windows XP Professional
and standard Microsoft apps, as well as EverNote Plus 1.0
for Windows note management software, ritePen 2.5 with next-generation
handwriting recognition and Fortune Fountain DialKeys which
provide on-screen keyboards and thumbpads.
The LifeBook P1500 notebook is available through the Fujitsu
direct sales force, Web site and channel partners with pricing
starting at US $1,500 for a base configuration. Users can
choose from a recommended configuration or they can customize
their system.
