Validian updates its secure file/message exchange software
for PCs and mobiles
July
13, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Validian (BULLETIN BOARD: VLDI)
today released version 3.0 of its secure file- and message-exchange
software product: Validian Flash Communicator. The new version
improves in the areas of scalability, audit trails, support
and security preferences.
According
to Validian, Flash Communicator delivers secure file- and
message-exchange capabilities among authenticated and authorized
end users from virtually any Internet-connected computer,
regardless of location. Files and messages are encrypted within
the sending Flash Communicator application, transmitted in
a secure manner to the intended-authenticated and authorized-recipient,
and decrypted within the receiving Flash Communicator application..
Validian
says that Flash Communicator user must also be authorized
to send files and messages to another authorized user before
any exchange can take place, ensuring that users can never
receive files and messages from unauthenticated or unauthorized
sources. Malicious code, viruses and worms cannot be inserted
into an encrypted message while it is in transit, and either
the host computer's operating system nor the corporate network
can be penetrated by cyber thieves or by viruses, worms or
other forms of malicious attack via Flash Communicator, according
to the company.
Improvements
in the new release include:
- an
enhanced highly scalable database that supports 100,000s
of users and recursive lookups,
- the
ability to select from 23 different crypto-graphical algorithms,
- improved
file- and message-exchange logging and history functionality
to deliver definitive audit trails and ensure non repudiation,
- the
ability to save and view history files in multiple formats
including MS Word, and
- enhanced
support for the Sony Puppy FIU-810 biometric USB device.
Validian
Flash Communicator can be deployed on flash-memory devices,
and desktop and laptop computers. For more information, see
