FutureDial software enables camera phone image sharing without
carrier fees
July
1, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- More people are buying camera
cellphones these days, and enjoying the convenience of snapping
pictures. But they soon discover that "saying cheese"
comes with a catch ---- namely, paying fees to their wireless
carriers to transmit, store and share those pictures using
the carriers
network.
Users
who don't want to spend the money to save their pictures on
the carrier's network face a problem when their camera phone
inevitably become full of pictures: they face the "agony
of delete", having to choose which of their cherished
shots they have to delete to free-up room on their camera
phones so they can continue taking more pictures.
FutureDial
says it software allows cameraphone users to bypass all of
that. The FutureDial Suite software allows users to unload
their photos from their camera phones directly to their own
PC to store, share and use bypassing the wireless carrier's
network. Unloading pictures from the phone also frees-up memory
on the phone.
In addition
to the camera phone featrure, the software also allows users
to synchronize phonebooks, calendars and to-do lists between
the PC and cellphones; add personal pictures and favorite
ringtones from the PC to cellphones; enable wireless Internet
access for laptop computers using the cellphone as a "wireless
modem" for the PC; and exchange and manage SMS text messages
with other cellphones directly from the PC.
Purchase of FutureDial Suite also entitles owners to download
FutureDial's new Vortext Software for free for a limited time.
Vortext allows selecting text information on web pages in
Internet Explorer and sending it directly to phones. Handy
information like driving directions, flight information, addresses,
locations of restaurants and bars, and other text can be brought
along on the cellphone for easy reference.
FutureDial says its software works with over 120 popular
cellphone models of Sprint PCS, Verizon Wireless, AT&T
Wireless, Cingular Wireless, and T-Mobile. The complete list
of supported phones is on FutureDial.com.
FutureDial Suite is available in RadioShack stores in a "software-only"
version (red package) with cellphone data cables sold separately.
In CompUSA, Good Guys and other consumer electronics retail
stores, the software will be available in two "software
+ 3 cable" bundle versions (blue packages) supporting
popular Sanyo, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola and LG cellphone models.
FutureDial retails for about US $50 for the red "software-only"
package and $70 for the blue "software + 3 cable"
bundle package versions.
