Apricorn
ups mini USB hard drive to 60GB
June
13, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Apricorn today released a larger
60GB capacity EZ Bus Mini to their portable USB hard drive
line. Based on the latest 1.8" hard drive technology,
Apricorn claims that the EZ Bus Mini is the smallest external
hard drive and disaster recovery system available.
The entire
EZ Bus Mini line, now in 20GB, 40GB and 60GB capacities, features
a Hi-Speed USB 2.0, 4200RPM hard drive. The enclosure features
an integrated USB cable, with a recessed compartment to keep
the cable clear from view when not in use.
EZ Bus
Mini is hot swappable with plug-n-play features and is only
15mm x 75 mm x 101mm in size, featuring a data transfer rate
up to 480Mbps. Included with the EZ Bus Mini package is a
travel pouch, encryption and synchronizing software, and back
up software - EZ Gig II Hard Drive Cloning and Backup Software.
The EZ
Backup Software provides two utilities on one disk: Clone
EZ and Image EZ. Clone EZ is aimed at users who require an
exact bootable clone of their drive. Image EZ is for users
who want a compressed image of either their entire hard drive
or a partition. Image EZ compresses its backup image files,
leaving users enough space to backup multiple computers, or
maintain multiple backups made at different times.
The encryption
software included with the EZ Bus Mini secures and protects
confidential and sensitive information. The software uses
a mathematical process of scrambling data to ensure maximum
privacy protection. The synchronizing software allows for
file sharing between multiple PCs.
The EZ
Bus Mini requires a notebook or desktop PC with an Intel Pentium
CPU, 32MBs RAM or more, USB port, and CD drive. The operating
system must be either Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
Prices
start at US $179 for 20GB version, $249 for 40GB and $349
for 60GB. The new EZ Bus Mini is currently available in the
US, Canada and online at the Apricorn web site.
