Psion Teklogix improves on its Workabout Pro line

2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Mississauga, Ontario based Psion
Teklogix (LSE: PON) today announced improvements to its WORKABOUT
PRO line of rugged handheld computers. Recent enhancements
include 1D and 2D image readers, a high-frequency RFID reader,
a wide area wireless communications PC Card Radio Kit, and
Windows Mobile as an alternative platform to Windows CE .NET.
The 1D
image reader system provides customers with a cost-effective
option for linear barcode scanning data capture capabilities.
The 2D image reader enables users to read more comprehensive
data from a barcode such as customer location, shipping location
and shipment contents
A high-frequency
RFID reader is now available, further enhancing the multimedia
data capture capabilities of the WORKABOUT PRO. Operating
at 13.56 MHz, high-frequency RFID is often used in applications
such as asset tracking or closed-loop supply chain logistics.
GPRS
and CDMA wireless connectivity for the WORKABOUT PRO is now
also delivered via a new wide area wireless communications
PC Card Radio Kit. This kit gives customers increased flexibility
to choose the most beneficial wireless option
Also
of note is that the WORKABOUT PRO is available in either Windows
Mobile or Windows CE .NET configurations.
