Trimble
adds subfoot GPS receiver for mapping
Sunnyvale,
CA, April 22, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Trimble (Nasdaq:
TRMB) today introduced its latest GPS Pathfinder Global Positioning
System (GPS) receivers for Geographic Information System (GIS)
data collection and mapping.
The GPS
Pathfinder ProXH integrates a GPS receiver, antenna and battery,
and uses Bluetooth technology for cable-free communications
to a field computer and Trimble's new H-Star technology to
provide subfoot (30 centimeter) positioning accuracy.
Trimble's
new GPS Pathfinder Pro series also includes the ProXT receiver.
In the same form factor as the ProXH, the ProXT receiver delivers
submeter accuracy.
Trimble
H-Star technology is a combination of the ProXH receiver technology,
field data collection techniques and postprocessing that allows
users to achieve subfoot accuracy. With the addition of an
external Zephyr antenna, eight-inch (20 centimeter) accuracy
can be obtained, according to Trimble.
The ProXH
and ProXT receivers come with different mounting options --
belt, backpack, range pole or on a vehicle. The receivers
are available from Trimble's dealers and business partners.
