Cingular adds Audiovox SMT 5600 Windows Mobile smartphone

2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Cingular Wireless today announced
the availability of the Audiovox SMT 5600 cameraphone to all
Cingular Wireless customers.

The
Audiovox SMT 5600, a 3.6-ounce, tri-band (850/1800/1900
MHz) GSM/GPRS handset. The phone combines many of the
features familiar to Windows PC users including mobile
versions of Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, MSN
Messenger and Windows Media Player 10.
The
SMT 5600 has a built-in mini-SD slot, allowing users
to expand the 32MB RAM and store images, video clips,
music and other data, all of which can be transferred
to a PC via Microsoft ActiveSync. The phone also includes
Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
The
SMT 5600's CMOS VGA digital camera includes low-light
capabilities, 4x digital zoom and camcorder functionality.

Features
for business users include over-the-air synchronization of
personal information management (PIM) functions, up to nine
e-mail boxes supporting POP3 and IMAP4 mail, and support for
the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework. The framework allows
enterprises to mobilize existing Microsoft based applications,
and as well as use third-party applications for Windows Mobile.
Cingular
is offering the Audiovox SMT 5600 starting today in select
U.S. markets for US $200 with a two-year voice and data service
contract.
