Air2Web
offers mobile access to enterprise IM apps
Atlanta,
May 2, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Air2Web today released version
2.0 of their 2IM product, a platform that aims to provide
mobile employees with access to instant messaging applications
on their phones or wireless handsets.
2IM supports
Sametime, Jabber , and Microsoft LCS from RIMs, Treos, Windows
Mobile -based devices, J2ME phones, and very shortly BREW
phones. Air2Web says it is licensing 2IM to enterprises, as
well to wireless carriers who are deploying it to corporate
customers.
According
to Air2Web, 2IM users have access to:
- chat
capabilities including multiple, simultaneous chat windows
- buddy
lists and the ability to add, remove, block and confirm
buddies
- time
stamps on messages
- status
of online state (busy, on the phone, etc)
- auto-replace
(such as Im, I'm)
- emoticons
- Notification
Mechanisms including tones, vibrate, vibrate plus tone,
tone muting
For security,
2IM employs two-factor authentication through certificates
and message encryption. Two-factor authentication verifies
user and device identity, while message encryption preserves
message integrity during transmission between users.
Air2Web
