releases Tungsten E2 handheld PDA
Milpitas,
CA, April 13, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- As expected, palmOne
(Nasdaq: PLMO) today announced the Tungsten E2 handheld, priced
at US $249. The new version of the Tungsten E adds a brighter
color screen, flash memory, Bluetooth wireless technology
and a more powerful battery.

The
E2's features include:

Brighter 320x320 color display
- 32MB
of non-volatile flash memory with 26MB actual storage
capacity
- Longer
battery life
- Flash
memory to protect the information on the handheld
even if the battery runs out.
- Built-in
Bluetooth to synchronize with desktop PCs wirelessly
or with a compatible Bluetooth phone to access the
Web.

- Portable
MP3(3) player. Users plug in an expansion card with MP3s
and use the built-in speaker or stereo headphones.
- Photo
sharing: Photos or video clips can be carried by inserting
an SD Card from a digital camera.
- DataViz's
Documents To Go software, which allows use of Word, Excel
and PowerPoint files. as well as Acrobat PDF files with
a simple conversion step.
- 200MHz
Intel XScale processor
- 32MB
of RAM (26MB user available)
palmOne's
Tungsten E2 handheld has an estimated U.S. street price of
$249 and is available starting today from the palmOne online
store and select retail stores worldwide.
The company
also reduced the price of the Zire 31 handheld by $20 -- now
$129 (estimated U.S. street price).
