GoRemote
adds enterprise application & patch deployment service

CA, March 16, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- GoRemote Internet
Communications today introduced GoRemote Express, a web based
system for managing enterprise applications and patch deployment.
GoRemote
Express enables IT administrators to the control a deployment
process from the GoRemote Universal Remote Control Web portal,
which aims to eliminate the need to send out large file attachments
or CDs to thousands of users. GoRemote Express deployments
can centrally be managed and configured by IT.
For large
deployments, GoRemote Express completely manages the download
process and will resume download and installation if the connection
is interrupted due to various causes, including poor network
connectivity or lack of time. The software can support several
thousand users can be deployed within a few weeks, according
to GIC.
Other
GoRemote Express features include:
- Application
Auto-launch via a Split File Process -- Only 140KB is published
to the desktop.
- Installation
Sequencing -- The software uninstalls legacy software, installs
the new program or installs multiple programs, and reboots
the system.
- Patch
Management -- IT and network managers can enforce security
compliance by posting, deploying, and viewing installation
progress report for patches.
- End
Point Reporting -- IT and network managers can remotely
receive an inventory of software and hardware of the organization's
computer pool.
- Real-time
Reporting -- Through the GoRemote web portal, IT and network
managers have real-time access to the status of downloads
throughout the enterprise providing for efficient enterprise
application deployment. Real-time reports include the user
name, date, name of downloaded file, time of download, and
method of connection.
- Hosted
Service -- An option for storing large applications
