Magazine
distributor sees 112% increase in new business since going
mobile
Bothell,
WA, March 17, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Impact Marketing
& Merchandising, one of Australia's largest distributors
of newsstand publications, has claimed a record increase in
its field sales since deploying a mobile merchandising system
from Dexterra in 2004. Impact says it has generated a 112%
increase in new business and is experiencing a distinct competitive
advantage as a result of more immediate customer service delivered
through the mobile platform.
Prior
to implementing the mobile system, Impact exchanged information
and updates with its field workforce on a weekly basis by
using traditional email, fax and phone communications. Although
account requirements were regularly handled, emergency service
calls were nearly impossible to execute in a timely manner.
Feedback and billing from field activities were also slow
as the paper-based process took weeks, not hours.
"We
looked at several mobile companies," says Sara Callaghan,
general manager for Impact Marketing & Merchandising.
"Dexterra offered a flexible solution that met all of
our requirements, enabling us to be unique and ahead of our
competitors in this field. We are experiencing a considerable
cost savings and have generated significant new business to
justify the investment."
The mobile
implementation was able to go live within 60 days from concept.
In addition to its dramatic increase in new business since
implementing Dexterra Field Sales for Merchandising, Impact
says it has also eliminated fax communications and dropped
its dependency on paper reporting by 95%. The company has
also reduced errors related to reporting, ordering, billing,
shipping and merchandising.
